Children and Youth

Weekly Learning Opportunities – As a small church, we use every opportunity we can to incorporate a children’s message and teaching into our 9:00 am service.  This format includes a printed weekly learning message that is discussed at the end of the service, and the printout can be taken home to hopefully create more discussion in the family.  Children are also encouraged to be trained to serve as Worship leaders in the earlier service.

Confirmation - Middle school youth are invited to participate in confirmation, an important time for young people to learn about their own faith journey and grow into a more mature understanding of what it means to be a Christian. There are three parts to our confirmation process at Grace:
1) Each confirmand is assigned a mentor from within the congregation to encourage them through the confirmation process.

2) Participants attend classes with the Rector, including learning about what it means to be an Episcopalian, understanding how to live a life guided by the teachings of our faith, and recognizing the gifts of the Spirit in their own lives.

3) Each confirmand will be expected to participate in three worship services as either an acolyte, reader, or usher.
