Worship

Our Worship Ministry is made possible by those leaders who help serve God and the Church as part of our weekly services. Participating in our Worship Ministry allows you to not only deepen your own knowledge of our liturgy, but it is a unique opportunity to be a part of the ministry of the Word and Sacrament each week.  There are multiple ways you can serve including the following:

Acolyte - Acolytes assist the Clergy each Sunday and at other special services throughout the year.  They serve as Crucifer and at the altar during communion. This ministry is not limited to young people.

Altar Guild - The Altar Guild cares for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Members prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterwards. They arrange the altar flowers each week and maintain other decorations during special seasons.

ChoirIt is said that those who sing pray twice.  The music provided by our choir is important to the worship experience here at Grace Church.  All are welcome to join in the choir.  The choir rehearses each Sunday before service.

Chalice Bearer – Chalice Bearers vest and assist the Clergy at our services.  They process with the acolyte, choir and clergy, read the second reading, lead the prayers of the people, and distribute the wine at the Holy Eucharist.

Lector - The Lector reads the first lesson and Psalm at our services.

Usher/Greeter - Ushers greet parishioners and distribute bulletins at our services. Ushers also take the communion elements forward, collect the offering, direct people during communion, and count the number in attendance at each service.
